The Story Behind Alfreto

Alfreto was created by an academic who, like many researchers and students, constantly needed to deal with files — converting PDFs, compressing documents, splitting presentations, merging reports — all as part of daily academic work.

The frustration was real: most tools either required a paid subscription, forced you to upload sensitive research files to unknown servers, or were cluttered with ads that made them nearly unusable. For academics in our countryand across the developing world, paying for premium tools every month simply isn't practical.

So the question became: Why not build something better? Something that runs entirely in the browser, respects your privacy, works on any device, and costs absolutely nothing — forever.

That's how Alfreto was born. A passion project turned into a fully-featured platform, built with love and a genuine desire to help people get their work done without obstacles.

Our mission is simple: make powerful file tools accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget, location, or technical background.

We believe that a student in a small town in all places in the world deserves the same quality tools as someone in Silicon Valley. That a researcher should never have to worry about their data being stored on a stranger's server. That productivity tools should empower people, not gatekeep them.
